Nancy Monaghan - Director
Nancy first found her love for drama in Paris, where she spent two years working for Disneyland as various characters such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty.  She has since gone on to study at the Laine Johnson School of Theatre, Film and Television and is now completing a degree in Performance Art at Leeds Metropolitan University.  Nancy’s other professional work includes extensive corporate roleplay experience with organisations such as Jobcentre Plus, the RNID and Manchester Metropolitan University.  Nancy has been teaching drama for several years now, at after school clubs, youth groups and, of course, at Wild Things.  Nancy has in the past been heavily involved in many local amateur dramatics groups, both as an actress and a director and still runs Saddleworth Players’ Junior group, directing their very impressive annual Christmas production. Nancy has two young children, Jack, 10 and Erin, 9. Having herself been a shy child, who dreaded the embarrassment and pressure of school drama classes, Nancy aims through Wild Things to make drama something that is accessible and most importantly enjoyable to everyone, whatever their age, background or capability.

Libby was introduced to acting by her grandmother, an active member of Saddleworth Players in Delph (who is sadly no longer with us) and has been hooked ever since. Libby's first roles were a witch and a waitress in the Saddleworth Players production of 'The Witches' by Roald Dahl, and has gone on to perform in 'Ernie's Incredible Adventures', with the Junior Saddleworth Players. Libby first worked with Nancy and many other members of the team in 'The Beeple', shown at Delph Theatre. It was this experience that caused Libby to form strong friendships with her colleagues and inspired her to join the Wild Things Drama School when it first began in 2010. She says, "Acting has improved my confidence massively. I love having a way of forgetting about real life for a few hours but doing something productive at the same time." Libby recently received a Distinction on her first LAMDA exam, and can be seen in 'A Comedy of Errors' with Wild Things Drama School and 'Under Milk Wood' with Saddleworth Players in late spring of this year.
