Extra-curricular drama sessions are currently on offer at Oldham Hulme Grammar School for pupils in Nursery class to Year 13.
From September to December, sessions will be primarily focused on performance skills such as; confidence, clear speaking, movement, presence, focus, the creation of a character, improvisation, interpreting a text, performing solo and working as an ensemble.
Students work from January to April/May on preparation for their LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) Acting qualification. Examinations will take place in school in April or May. This will involve the preparation of anything from a short poem (for younger students), to working on scripts and creating devised scenes for solo and duo performances (for older learners).
In June and July, after exams are finished, students will have the freedom to choose either to work on a short group performance or simply have some fun with a variety of drama workshops.
Fees are payable termly and will be invoiced at the end of the previous term or upon joining. Upon receipt of the invoice, fees must be paid within 21 days. Late fees will incur a £10 'Late Payment' charge. Unpaid fees will result in students losing their place in the classes. Fees can be paid by bank transfer or on the Wild Things website. Please note that payments via the website will be slightly more expensive than stated on your invoice - the extra fee is an administration charge which covers the cost of using Paypal.
